However, longline bras are only technically defined by the band (the part under the cups that goes around the torso) extending further down the torso down to around the belly button/waistline. It is essentially an extended bralette with benefits!
Longline bras are differentiated by their phenomenal versatility. They vary in material, lengths, straps vs strapless, and structure. They come in countless different options, but you can always be assured that it is made with fashion and support in mind.
One of the perks about a longline bra is that it looks flattering on every body type! This is one of the reasons it is so popular for bridal parties. It looks great under clothes AND once the clothes come off!

If you’re looking for a bra that also provides a shapewear effect, longline bras may not be the best choice for you. Although some do offer this effect, your luck will be much better with a Bustier. Bustiers extend longer to the hipline and are designed specifically for sculpting the torso as well as providing cleavage enhancement. Longline bras are meant more for fashion than function like this.

Sizing for longline bras can sometimes be a little tricky. This is because not only are you sizing for a bra, but also a torso measurement that must be accounted for. The most important thing to have correct is the band size- and don’t be surprised if this is different for longline bras than other bra styles!
Sizing can especially be a doozy for petite women.
