I stumbled your article and it sums up a lot of guys. I gave up on mens underwear decades ago. As you stated, mens wear is uncomfortable, boring and uninspiring. It’s ultra conservative to appeal to a boring customer.
The stigma men face when they tell their partners about the love of lingerie is the breaking point in many relationships. It makes you wonder about the foundations to start with.
I guess it’s where women were over 100 years ago when they wanted to wear pants.
I feel that it has been forgotten that men have skin, nerves and eyes. We love beautiful things and that means enjoying the feel. Men are more than just a boof head in pants and at formal occasions and looking like everyone else in a dull uncomfortable suit .
